Laundry Driver/Assistant

An opportunity has arisen for a reliable person to work for the College Laundry, mainly during term-time, assisting with the collection of laundry across the Campus, and also supporting in other laundry processes. This work will involve lifting heavy bags. The post is for an average of 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm and alternate Saturdays, 7.00am to 12.00pm. Applicants must have held a full clean UK driving licence for a minimum of four years or more.

IT Trainer and Business Analyst

Technical Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Technical Analyst with the ICT Services team at Winchester College.

The team's responsibilities involve supporting and maintaining the College's IT infrastructure, network, wireless network, devices, software and services, as well as designing and testing new technical solutions in line with the College's IT Strategy and Policies.

The candidate will have a high level of technical skill and some years' experience of both client- and server-based computers, as well as of networking, wireless networking and Active Directory domains, and of server and networking hardware. The candidate will have the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies as they appear, as driven by client requirements.

Teacher of Economics 

Winchester College seeks to appoint a well-qualified, dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Economics to start in either September 2017 or January 2018.

The successful candidate will teach CIE Pre-U Economics in the sixth form and be enthusiastic about promoting this popular subject, which enjoys an excellent academic record. Each year pupils from Winchester go on to study PPE, Economics and related subjects at Oxbridge and other top universities.

The College, which was founded in 1382, is a boys' boarding school of 700 pupils. We are committed to the highest standards of academic excellence, first class pastoral care and the maintenance of a broad and balanced liberal education for all our pupils. Through our non-examined general cultural studies programme (known as Division) we offer an approach to education which develops an intelligent and critical awareness of the world, strong communication skills and a confident ability to think independently and with originality. Registrar's Administrator

The school seeks to appoint a term-time-only Administrator to work as part of the Winchester College Registrar's team. Applicants should have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively at all levels and be well organised. The successful applicant will have administrative and/or secretarial experience, including, database entry and report writing. Advanced skills in MS Word and intermediate skills in Excel are essential.

This is a term-time-only position with the post-holder working predominantly Monday to Friday, 0900-1300 hours, with occasional Saturday mornings. House Secretary

The school seeks to appoint a term-time only Secretary to work as part of the boarding houses administration support team. The post-holder should be numerate (experience of basic book-keeping an advantage), well organised and very well presented, and should have excellent communication and word-processing/Excel skills. Experience of work in the independent school sector would be an advantage but is not essential.

CCF School Staff Instructor

Winchester College seeks to appoint a School Staff Instructor (SSI) to the College Combined Cadet Force. The successful candidate will be a Warrant Officer Class I or II rank (either a Company Sergeant Major or a Regimental Sergeant Major); however, strong applicants of other ranks may be considered. This role requires someone with experience and sufficient vigour to work with the boys in the field, in the mountains and on the ranges.

This is a term time only position with the post-holder will work Monday to Friday 0800-1600 hours with half an hour for lunch between 1330-1400 hours, term time only; however, during the off duty hours, the post-holder will be a designated first responder for the Armoury Rifle Store alarm systems. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure a smooth workflow, and hours can be managed in liaison with the Contingent Commander. Attendance at all camps and exercises will also be required.

Combined Cadet Force Storeman

Winchester College requires a CCF Storeman to provide administrative support to the school's Staff Instructor. This includes the issue and recovery of all military and adventure training kit, and assuming the role of Ammunition Storeman. The storeman must also be prepared to take on a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) commission.
Training will be given if required.

The CCF is supported by a full-time Staff Instructor and a Secretary. The post-holder will work closely with these individuals, liaising with other departments within the College as necessary, to facilitate the efficient and smooth running of the CCF.

This post is for 22 hours per week during term time only to be completed as agreed with the CCF Contingent Commander. The Storeman will be required to attend camps in the capacity as Storeman.

Domestics (Weekend and Evenings)

Winchester College has vacancies for reliable people to work as Domestics (weekend and evenings) in several Boarding Houses, carrying out general cleaning duties and assisting in the Dining Room serving meals. The ideal candidates must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. These roles are term-time only, working various shifts, from weekends 9.00am to 2.00pm to evenings (Monday to Sunday) 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
